Separation
After inactivation, the hydrolyzate is drained over a special sieve system, in order to remove all solid particles (bones). Subsequently the liquid hydrolyzate is passed through a decanter and separator in order to separate it into the following fractions:
Fat Soluble protein Insoluble protein Bones
In some applications only the fat will be separated.
For applications in which the hydrolyzates have a low fat content and is without bones, separation of the liquid hydrolyzate is not applicable.
If a very clear fraction is needed, it is required to lead the soluble protein through a clarifier or filter.
If predetermination of the Dalton weight is needed, it is necessary to ultrafiltrate the soluble protein.
